In this section, we will review the arterial and venous anatomy of the central nervous system. We will deal with the brain first and then the spine.
Arterial supply to the brain
Four arteries supply blood to the brain:
- Two external carotid arteries
- Two vertebral arteries
Venous drainage of the brain
Arterial supply to the spinal cord
Venous drainage of the spinal cord
