Sudden cardiac death is a concern for patients. More recent, larger studies have suggested that the risk of this is lower than was thought previously. Risk factors include extreme left ventricular hypertrophy, non-sustained VT, unexplained syncope, hypotension on exercise, fibrosis on cardiac MRI and a family history of sudden cardiac death.
